The Super Easy Way to Make Your Own Bone Broth

A recipe from Sheryl Cooksley

Your belly is full, the dishes are cleared, but now you’re wondering what to do with that leftover turkey carcass. The one everyone tells you to make into delicious turkey broth.

You know, bone broth, that stuff that is so beneficial for your pregnant or postpartum body.

You stare blankly at these silly people. Don’t they know you just cooked for 3 days and possibly have no intention of cooking for the next month? Why on earth would you want to spend the day after a major food holiday watching and tending to a simmering pot of turkey stock?

NOPE. Not you! Here is quite possibly the easiest recipe for ANY kind of bone broth your heart desires:

Crockpot Bone Broth

  • Place all bones and carcass parts in the largest crockpot you have

  • Add 1 quartered onion, 2-3 stalks celery (the leaves are the best!), and a chopped up carrot (peels on are great)

  • Add as much garlic as you wish (ginger is great too!)

  • Add any other seasonings that sound good to you

  • Cover with water

  • Cook for 8-10 hours on low (or more if you want)

  • Using a sieve, strain out all bits and pieces

  • Let cool.

THAT’S IT!

Sound simple and delicious? Give it a try and tell us what you think!
